Summer is officially over, and I might just be the happiest person alive.
Sure, the warmer months have their benefits – barbecues on the roof, a warm breeze blowing through my apartment and an abundance of fresh fruit, to name a few – but I’m honestly just not the biggest fan.
Give me a pile of orange leaves and a cute knitted scarf, and I’m content.
When autumn rolls around, I come alive. It’s kinda like reverse hibernation, I guess. There are so many things to do and see at this time of year, and I want to experience it all.
So without further ado, here are 31 things that you absolutely must do this autumn. I’m planning to attempt every single one, and I couldn’t be more excited.
Let’s jump right in!
Visit your local pumpkin patch and pick out your Halloween pumpkin.
Bake a pumpkin pie, gingerbread loaf or a batch of apple muffins.
Run a warm bath and add your most autumnal products – think cinnamon, pumpkin spice and red apple.
Drink a warm mug of gingerbread tea.
Cook a cosy, warming autumn meal. Here are a few ideas!
Go for a woodland walk and admire the autumn leaves.
Put together a cute, cosy outfit and take photos. Use Pinterest for inspiration!
Snuggle up under a blanket and binge-watch movies or TV shows.
Light an autumn-themed candle.
Add some autumn touches to your home with burnt orange pillows, tartan blankets and mini pumpkins.
Make a batch of butternut squash soup, and give the leftovers to a friend or neighbour.
Go apple picking at your local orchard.
Create your Halloween costume – it’s all about the details!
Give yourself a mani-pedi using dark, vampy colours.
Collect pinecones, conkers and acorns for autumn crafts.
Have a picnic outside among the fallen leaves.
Toast vegan marshmallows over a fire.
Take a weekend trip away to a forest.
Jump in a leaf pile.
Buy seasonal produce at your local market.
Apply a deep red lipstick.
Spend a cosy afternoon reading a book.
Do something spooky – explore a cemetery, watch a scary movie or tell ghost stories.
Reorganise your closet and donate any unwanted clothes.
Go for a misty morning walk.
Invent your own pumpkin spice latte.
Snuggle under cosy blankets and stargaze with someone you love.
Dry and press autumn leaves and flowers.
Make your own homemade jam.
Go to a drive-in movie and eat way too much vegan caramel popcorn.
Knit a cosy scarf or blanket.
I’ve already ticked a few of these off, and I can’t wait to complete the rest.
What’s on your autumn bucket list? I’d love to know!
