The last few leaves have fallen from the trees, the pumpkins have rotted away to nothing and a chilly wind has started to blow.
Another autumn has come to an end, so I wanted to share a few more memories of my favourite season before wishing it farewell for another year.
Our friend Koye came to visit from America in October, so I took a week off work and we headed to Suffolk with my in-laws. We stayed in a little house on a farm, with chickens outside our window. The fresh eggs and local honey were delicious!
If you’re a long-time reader, you may remember my blog post about Bungay all those years ago. This most recent trip wasn’t too different – we explored the ruins of St Andrews Church in Covehithe, walked Fujin along the beach and creeped ourselves out in the local graveyard.
Bungay is looking a little tired these days, but it’s still cute. I love when villages decorate for autumn – it feels like I’ve stepped straight into Stars Hollow.

We sat down to many delicious pub meals, including this seasonal venison and vegetable dish that I’m still craving to this day. I just love anything hearty and locally-sourced.

Speaking of food…
Just look at these adorable pumpkin-shaped apple pies. Koye and I made them on a cosy weekend afternoon, and they turned out even better than we imagined. They were almost too cute to eat!

My husband also made his famous Japanese ramen, which is so authentic you’d swear you were dining on the streets of Tokyo. He made it even better this year with the addition of simmered kabocha squash, which took it to the next level. I had three servings!

As always, I did my fair share of thrifting this season. My wardrobe has never looked better!
But I just had to share these original Point Horror books from the 90s. R. L .Stine will always be my favourite author and I’ve been on the hunt for these forever, so I was over the moon when I spotted them on the shelf.
I picked them both up for 50p each – the perfect spooky Halloween find.

Halloween has got to be my favourite night of the year, and this autumn was no exception. We seem to get more trick or treaters every year!
After giving out sweets to what felt like half the kids in London, we settled down to watch the finale of Agatha All Along (tears!) and eat all the leftover chocolate.

As is tradition during autumn, we went on many woodland walks to admire the changing leaves.
I love walking in the late afternoon, just as it’s beginning to get dark. The world takes on a gloomy and melancholic feel, and it’s extra-cosy to see the lights of little houses in the distance.

We made so many wonderful memories this autumn that I simply don’t have space to share them all here.
Attending a Halloween-themed candlelight concert, creeping ourselves out at a Serial Killer exhibition, watching Hocus Pocus at the cinema with hot chocolate, roasting marshmallows to make s’mores in our back garden, seeing the floating pumpkins in the Great Hall at the Harry Potter Studio Tour… I think this might have been the best autumn yet.
I’m sad that it’s over, but I’m so grateful that I made the most of my favourite time of year.
Now the Christmas tree is up, twinkling lights are everywhere and things are feeling extra-cosy. It’s time to make some more magic…
