As I mentioned in my thrifting round-up for January, I’ve decided to document everything I thrift in 2024 to ensure I’m making mindful purchases and sticking to my budget.
Somehow another month has come and gone already, so I’m here to share my thrift finds for February.
February began with the opening of a new thrift store near my house, so of course I had to check it out. I walked away with a great vintage top from the 2000s, so it’s safe to say I’ll be a regular visitor.
I also scored another vintage 90s sweater from one of my favourite stores, and I can’t wait to show you!
It looks like my patience and self-control is paying off in 2024. It can be easy to get swept away by the cheap prices at the thrift stores, but I’ve been standing firm and only making a purchase when I truly love something.
Rory Gilmore cable-knit sweater: £12.00

I thrifted the Rory Gilmore sweater of my dreams in February – it’s hand-knitted, made from 100% wool and is the perfectly oversized, cosy fit. I can’t wait to roll up the cuffs and wear it with jeans, black Converse and my Stars Hollow tote bag filled with classic books.
Someone else had already picked the sweater up when I first spotted it, and I held my breath as I watched them mull it over. As soon as they put it back I raced over and grabbed it, and the heavy weight confirmed that I’d found something special.
This sweater definitely cost more than I would usually spend on a thrifted item, but I just couldn’t pass it up. Is it autumn yet?
Vintage Disney sweatshirt: £5.00

I hit the vintage sweatshirt jackpot again with this adorable 90s Tigger sweater. Can you believe my luck this year?
This find proves that there are still absolute gems hidden among all the fast fashion in the thrift stores. I see a lot of people complaining that it’s impossible to find anything good these days, but you just need a little patience and a discerning eye.
I checked online and found this exact sweatshirt selling for a pretty penny on eBay, but there’s no way I’m flipping it!
Vintage 2000s H&M top: £5.00

The thrift stores in my neighbourhood have truly been delivering this year. It feels like all the vintage gems are there waiting for me as soon as I decide I want them!
I’ve been watching Gilmore Girls recently and have become obsessed with their style – I hear the kids are calling it the ‘downtown girl aesthetic’ these days. Yes, I’m old.
I wanted a simple empire waist top for springtime, something that hinted at that style but would be classic and mature enough to wear as a thirty-something.
The thrift gods delivered with this genuine vintage 2000s H&M top (tip: get to know what older clothing tags look like!) It’s exactly what I was looking for and has made me excited for warmer weather.
Total spent: £22.00
I spent slightly over my £20 thrifting budget this month, as the Rory Gilmore sweater was much more expensive than my usual finds.
Oops. I’ll make up for it in March!
I’m so pleased with everything I thrifted in February. I’ve worn both sweaters multiple times, and the little empire waist top is sitting in my wardrobe waiting for springtime.
I wonder what I’ll find this month?
